Veterinary Assistant
Summer Antrim joined the team at Striegel Animal Hospital in 2021. Born and raised in Peoria, Illinois, Summer moved to Carbondale in 2013 to attend Southern Illinois University (SIU). During her time at SIU, she focused on pre-veterinary medicine with a research interest in animal health, nutrition, and reproduction. Summer is Fear Free Certified and is dedicated to providing compassionate care to all animals. In addition to her Bachelor of Animal Science degree from Southern Illinois University, Summer is currently in her second semester attending Penn Foster program to gain certification as a veterinary technician.
When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, including her husband, daughter and pets - three cats and a rabbit.
